Buckinghamshire Domestic Abuse Partnership

Sanctuary Scheme

Funding has been provided for The Sanctuary Scheme to run within the county (excluding Milton Keynes).

The work is being carried out by Safe Partnership. Safe Partnership is a charity that specialise in Sanctuary Scheme work and all employees carrying out work are accredited by the Home Office and are fully CRB checked.

Victims DO NOT have to be considered high risk in order to be referred into the service. If a person is experiencing domestic abuse, they can receive the service.

Before a referral is made, the Registered Social Landlord MUST be approached to carry out the work first. If, for whatever reason, they

cannot carry out the work, a referral can be made into the Sanctuary Scheme.

Work that can be carried out includes:

Basic Security

  • Two locking points, door chain and viewer to the front door; three locking points to back and side doors; window locks on ground floor windows; locking devises to upstairs windows that give access from extensions etc.

Each case is treated independently so more/less can be added (dependant on cost).

Any organisation can refer into the sanctuary scheme by contacting Wycombe Women’s Aid who then refer to Safe Partnership Limited to carry out the target hardening.
